A smarter material for low‑carbon bathrooms

Eumar’s composite stone is engineered to be greener, lighter and longer‑lasting than traditional ceramics, mineral‑cast stone, quartz, natural stone and solid surface — without compromising on design.

It is a complete material system that turns every bathroom into a sustainability upgrade.

High recycled content

Our composite stone starts by rescuing waste from other industries. Instead of letting these by-products end up in landfills, our process safely neutralizes and binds them. We turn potential pollution into pristine, sustainable, and award-winning bathroom design.

Cradle-to-Cradle ready

At end of life, up to 100% of the material can be crushed to a 100‑micron fraction and fed back into new production, following Cradle‑to‑Cradle principles.

This enables a clear circular story:

Our material system has been acknowledged and preferred by the cruise and interiors community.

Eumar’s solution is not only technically advanced, but also trusted by our clients.

An environmental analysis of 60+ materials confirms Eumar’s exclusive composites lead the industry in low carbon emissions.

For a standard 120 cm washbasin, our GelCeramic Lightweight® produces just 20.3 kg of CO2. Compared to this baseline, traditional materials have a drastically higher footprint for the exact same product:

  • Ceramics: 61.0 kg CO2 (3× more)
  • Quartz: 81.6 kg CO2 (4× more)
  • Solid Surfaces (e.g., Corian): 105.1 kg CO2 (over 5× more)
  • Natural Stone (e.g., Marble): 130.4 kg CO2 (over 6× more)

Our other proprietary materials—including CreaCoat Lightweight (23.7 kg CO2), CreaCore®, and standard GelCeramic®—also maintain carbon footprints well below traditional industry standards.

We transform recycled waste from other industries into an advanced, circular composite. Finished with a highly durable gel coating, this material delivers exceptional strength at a fraction of traditional weight.

On Land
On Sea

While the advantages are clear on land, the weight savings become exceptionally dramatic at sea. Using a conservative factor, 1 tonne of weight saved on a cruise ship translates to roughly 0.5 tonnes of fuel saved every year.

Over 10–15 years, this single material choice saves hundreds of thousands of euros while continuously reducing your carbon footprint—whether at sea or on land.

Extended lifespan DNA

A truly sustainable product must stay in service. Eumar products are designed for a 30‑year reference service life—already far beyond many conventional alternatives.

After roughly 15 years:

Our surfaces can be polished and renewed to their original finish instead of being replaced.

Many scratches and damages can be repaired in‑place, extending life even further. This extended lifespan DNA means one product can deliver two full lifecycles and still be recyclable at the end, cutting waste, refit frequency, and embodied CO2.

antimicrobial surfaces

Hygiene built into the material

With 100% Antimicrobial®, our patented silver‑ion technology is embedded directly into the composite stone during manufacturing:

It kills about 95% of bacteria within two hours and 99.9% within 24 hours, tested to ISO 22196:2011.

Protection is not a coating – it cannot peel or wash away; it lasts for the full life of the product.

It has been proven effective against bacteria, mould, fungi and H1N1 virus.

The result: permanently protected, non‑porous surfaces that require less aggressive chemistry and effort to keep hygienic, supporting both health and sustainability goals.

To make circularity real in day‑to‑day projects, we run the Eumar 100% Recycling Program. When our products reach the end of their lifecycle, we invite customers to send them back so we can recover the raw materials and turn them into new products.

How it works:

  • Large corporate batches (50+ items): We offer a 100% free take‑back guarantee, covering all freight and transportation.
  • Smaller returns: We share transport costs and help organise the most efficient, low‑impact logistics.

In practice, this means your project commits not only to using recycled materials today, but also to responsible end‑of‑life handling—backed by a concrete program, not just a promise.

Choosing Eumar Design’s circular composite stone provides a high-performance, low-carbon material system in one integrated solution:

  • Circular Manufacturing: Eumar turns industrial waste into award-winning products, ensuring a 100% circular path from production to end-of-life.
  • EPD-Verified Low CO2: We lead in low-carbon manufacturing; a standard Eumar washbasin produces up to 6× lower CO2 than stone or ceramic.
  • Lightweight: Our 50% weight reduction technology slashes transport emissions and saves ~0.5 tonnes of marine fuel per tonne saved annually.
  • Extended Lifespan DNA: Designed for a 30-year service life; Eumar surfaces are renewable and repairable in-place, delivering two full lifecycles.
  • 100% Antimicrobial® Protection: Permanent silver-ion technology kills 99.9% of bacteria without toxic coatings or extra maintenance chemicals.
  • 100% Recycling Take-Back: A concrete circular commitment where we recover and reprocess raw materials at the end of the project lifecycle.

If you are specifying for a cruise ship, hotel, or public project and require premium bathroom solutions that are EPD-verified and genuinely green, Eumar Design produces the material to build on.
